Kryolan brand has never disappointed me. I own a concealer, an eye-primer, few brushes, translucent powder and a compact powder. Not even a single product is a regret buying one. Every product works amazingly. So i went ahead and this time i invested in a TV Paint stick foundation. I researched about it before giving it a try. A lot of people have mixed reviews about it; for some it is a wonder stick and for some it did not work out at all. So i gathered courage and picked the foundation stick from the Kryolan counter.
KRYOLAN CLAIMS: ‘Successfully proven cream make-up in stick form. The special base of TV Paint Stick allows gentle make-up application that provides effective covering at the same time. The KRYOLAN assortment of more than 250 color nuances for selection is truly extraordinary – which makes this preparation indispensable for stage, film, TV and video work.’
At Kryolan, we make makeup. But not like anybody else. Because unlike everybody else, we actually make our makeup. We’ve done it our own way for three generations. We think of it. We manufacture it. Formulate it and love it into existence. Because there is only one professional makeup maker. There is only one KRYOLAN.
PRICE: INR 1000 for 25g
SHADE: I picked the shade FS36, which is kind of half shade lighter than my NC44 skin tone. It has yellow undertones to it which makes the foundation really natural on the skin and doesn’t give a white cast.
PACKAGING: I guess this outer packing of the TV paint stick is a newer version one coz the older version has a grey coded outer carton box. Now this has a dark blue colored carton box with the signature of the founder(i guess-i am not sure of it though). And the stick comes in a grey coloured twist up tube. The packaging makes it so easy to carry foundations too in our bags without any kind of leakage problems and mess.
TEXTURE & FORMULA: Kryolan TV paint stick is a cream based foundation with a thick creamy texture. And due to this thick formula it definitely feels a little heavy on the skin. But once blended well, it feels comfortable without giving cakey finish. It gives a matte finish to the skin. The foundation has a very mild paint kinda fragrance to it that isn’t overpowering, once after setting it with any kind of powder it vanishes off. Moisturizing and prepping the face properly prior using it is a must for a real flawless effect.
COVERAGE & STAYING POWER: The Kryolan TV paint stick gives about high coverage and is also buildable as per the person’s need. But building on a second layer makes the face look absolutely cakey. One layer is so good to go. Unless you have very pigmented skin issues or dark spots then you will need a second layer. And talking about the staying power, it stays for almost all day. I wore this foundation even on a very hot summer weather and it stayed almost 6-8 hours. So the minimum staying power is about 8 hours. And this foundation did not transfer or smudge anywhere.
BEST METHOD TO USE: Cleanse and exfoliate the face thoroughly, so that there is no dead skin residue left orelse the foundation appears patchy. Prep your skin with a good hydrating moisturizer followed by a primer(if necessary). Apply the stick foundation on to the face in strokes. Damp beauty blender and makeup bushes(mostly flat top brushes or dense brush) works well for blending it out. Starting from the center of the face, blend the foundation outwards. Now set the foundation with a pressed powder\translucent powder. I personally use the ‘Kryolan translucent powder’ and OMG this powder does wonders. And voila! You look so flawless and beautiful.
Here are the swatched and blended pic of the Kryolan TV paint stick.
The foundation blended in flawlessly. Do not worry that it kind of has white cast coz obviously my hand and my face skin are different tones anyways.
OVERALL, if you are looking for a full coverage, all day wear foundation, then you should check this TV paint stick. It is good for bridals and all sorts of events/functions as it gives a seemlessly flawless finish and also its staying power is pretty good so there is no need of constant touchups.
