I always try to find the easiest way to solve any issue. There are a ton of contour palettes available in the market now and who has that much time and space in their handbags to carry the entire palette with the brush separately. Instead these contour sticks make life easier. These L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks were the first ever contour sticks I purchased. And then I thought I should invest such products and that’s when I discovered another really affordable brand, the Makeup Revolution The One Blush Stick (check the detailed review).
Highlight:– Select a highlighter shade and apply in a vertical line along the bridge of the nose and along the high point your cheekbones.

PRICE- Ranges from INR 750 – INR 800/- for 0.2 oz product. Available in Nykaa.com
I picked them from Nykaa itself, when there was a sale. I generally grab on products like these when on SALE offers.
First of all, the quantity of the product inside the stick is very very very less for the mentioned price. And when the product arrived and I opened it, the product was totally displaced from the tube and it was sticking to the cap. Luckily I stuck back into the tube. I got 3 tubes in the same condition as mentioned above, only one was in perfect condition.
The Velvet Contour sticks comes in a chubby twist-up stick kind of packaging. These are retractable. And the tubes are colour-coded, making it easy to identify the shade without having to look on the tube. The texture of these Velvet Contour sticks is soft creamy which completely gets matte after blending. They glide on like butter with amazing pigmentation and are such a dream to blend as they are cream based.
They set to a semi-matte finish upon blending and they do have a normal lasting power. As I have oily skin, these blushes and highlighters do not stay longer than 4 hours. Wish they could stay on on for much longer time. These would work great for dry skin girls and also for the normal skin, as the cream products are their bffs. The best way to use these sticks is by using our fingers. Fingers will be the best tools when using cream based products.
Here are the swatches – (all the swatches are the same, but in different lightings)
More swatches, as I hit on some flash. The highlight and the shimmer bronzer reflect so good and look at the creaminess of the blush. Although Goddess is named as a bronzer stick, I guess it can be used as highlight for deeper skin tones.
Overall, for me, even though I wouldn’t use them on daily basis, these contour sticks would really come handy when on travelling/vacations.
