Avoiding sunscreens coz they feel sticky and oily on the skin? Here’s a new revolutionary product launch by Lakme Sun Expert – called the ULTRA MATTE SPF40 PA+++ COMPACT POWDER. For people like me who have oily skin issues in summer and applying those blobs of thick creams of sunscreen becomes troublesome, this would be a good option to try out. Got my hands on this newly launched product by Lakme, which I’d be reviewing in this post.

Lakme Sun Expert launches the first-ever sunscreen in a revolutionary powder compact format. Designed for India’s hot and humid weather, it provides matte, non-sticky broad-spectrum sun protection.  The high protection, matte sunscreen powder contains SPF 40 PA++ minerals that evenly spread on the skin. It forms a protective layer that blocks sun’s harmful UVA & UVB rays, so your skin is shielded from the damaging effects of sun-like tan, sunburn, dark spots, premature aging. It gives a matte, non-sticky after-feel and coverage for an even complexion.

Available in only one universal shade that is suitable for all skin tones. Blend it on cleansed and hydrated skin, 20 mins before sun exposure. And step out without the fear of sun damage. Get your everyday sun protection without the stickiness of regular sunscreens.

PRICE : INR 210/- for a 7g product.

SHADES : The Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF40 PA+++ Compact comes in only  one single shade, which claims to be the universal shade that suits every skin tone.

AVAILABILITY : I bought mine from Nykaa, where it is currently newly launched. And very soon these will be available at all local beauty stores as well.

Packaging, the Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF40 PA+++ Compact powder comes in a bright sunset yellow colored outer as well as inner casing. This basically is the classic theme of the Lakme Sun Expert range, if you remember the sunscreen creams and lotions that we used last summer. It comes in a flip top compact case, which also has a full sized mirror. The compact comes with its own sponge applicator (not the rubbery sponge thankfully), which I like. The compact case is also very lightweight in weight to carry it around or to throw in the handbags.

The compact powder is a super finely milled powder which feels very light on the skin. It has a very smooth, soft and buttery texture to it and  has to be blending into the skin properly to avoid any patches or cakey-ness. It sets to a complete matte finish. The usage directs us to gently blend the powder onto face and neck 20mins before sun exposure, and to keep re-applying it every 3-4  hours for maximum sun protection. The powder has a lot of yellow undertones to it, which definitely complements any Indian skin. This compact does give a tad bit white cast (nothing ghostly like) to the skin, and I completely understand the fact that it’s composed with higher concentrates of SPF in it. But that white cast just gives an illusion of a healthy glow to the skin.

The compact comes in a single universal shade, which I was skeptical about at first whether it would work on my duskier skin or not, but when I started wearing this compact more often I’ve been loving it. For fair-medium-wheatish skin tones, this powder would absolutely suit you girls, as you can see from the pictures that the shade and everything looks favor to you, and also it blends into your skin and your skin tone very easily. I’m on the tan side, and when I tried it first it was like just using any translucent powder, but with this added SPF40 PA+++ benefits. The powder just blended into my skin giving a fresh matte look without making me worry about any white cast, plus my face really stayed fresh and shine-free for a longer period. Also it really did worked well both without any makeup and with makeup on. But I’m afraid this compact isn’t any choice for the darker skinned girls, I mean the NC45 and above. But anyways when we’re getting an SPF40 PA+++ Compact for just 210 bucks, you can definitely give this a trial as I did.

Overall, I’m super duper impressed with this LAKME SUN EXPERT ULTRA MATTE SPF40 PA+++ COMPACT, a big thumbs up for creating this. And it has already been my summer favorites now. It would definitely be your favorite too, if your a person like me who hates to slather on those blobs of greasy sunscreens all over your face. This would definitely be a summer savior to your skin! need to try this out!
