The Wet n Wild Cushion makeup was most hyped when they initially launched. They’ve come up with a bunch of face products, be it the Cushion Foundation, Cushion Contour and Cushion Highlighters. I’m not a cushion foundation person, but that hype really made me put this into my wish list. And I couldn’t wait more when these Mega Cushion Foundation have landed in India. I’ve done a decent amount of research about the shades before I made the purchase, and here I’m with the review of the new WET N WILD MEGA CUSHION FOUNDATION.
It’s a match made in makeup heaven: Liquid foundation in a cushion compact. Tap the cushion to add just the right amount of coverage or double tap to add more. It’s perfectly portable too, with an air tight, no mess compact that makes applying liquid foundation a breeze. Infused with coconut derivative, the luminous, lightweight, and buildable formula helps boost hydration and contains SPF 15 for added skin protection.

I picked the last, darkest shade in the line – TAWNY, which says Medium/Deep with Neutral tones(maybe). This shade is most suited for NC44 and above skin tones with warm undertones. It has got orange tones to it, which might work for some people as a color-corrector/concealer as well.
Again, I didn’t find any proper swatches of these cushion foundation shades to choose my right shade. I referred to a ton of videos and made the decision to pick Tawny shade. I could’ve picked Honey Beige, but somewhere in my mind I thought it would be lighter for my skin tone and maybe I could not work it out. So I ended up with getting Tawny. I’m really upset with the shade spectrum of these cushion foundations, as there’re not many shade options for the melanin rich beauties. I really want Wet n Wild to expand the shade spectrum.
Packaging, it comes in a standard cushion case with a cute graphic girlie design at the front and a transparent back where we can see the foundation shade. It comes with its own black colored puff applicator. And we also have a full sized mirror inside, which is a yay for me. The cushion is very securely sealed with a plastic wrap, which has to be pulled out. Overall, the packaging is very simple, very convenient and easy to handle and carry it around.
What a product man!! This is by far the best cushion foundation ever. Although it states the purpose of this cushion foundation is just to act like a sunscreen, the coverage it gives is simply so stunning. I’ve never seen any cushion foundation give great coverage. Yes! It is simply like a foundation in form of cushion. The foundation has a creamy liquidy consistency, which can be easily picked by the puff. The puff picks just the right amount of foundation needed. And all you do is dab dab dab! The application is very smooth and it doesn’t get patchy anywhere. The foundation feels light and comfortable on the skin and doesn’t give a caked up feel. It gives an almost full coverage impression on the skin, and it gives a super dewy finish. That’s maybe because of the natural coconut derivatives in it. But if you’ve blemished skin or hyper-pigmentation issues, then this foundation might not cover up all the spots that you expect which makes this a medium coverage cushion foundation. This foundation can be buildable.
This foundation can be worn alone, or can be further blended with any makeup brush and set with a powder. Using a beauty blender sponge is such a bad option, as the sponge soaks up all the foundation and you’ll be left with nothing to apply. The foundation feels a bit tacky at first and kind of gives creases if you’re in hot climate, so it definitely needs to be sealed in with a powder. And this foundation gives a very light white cast on the skin, very unnoticeable, which is obvious because of the SPF in it.
Dry skin beauties will love this for the natural dewiness it gives. I have oily-combination skin and I need to set this foundation with a powder to stop creasing. Oh ya, this foundation feels a bit tacky on my combination skin, but I guess that shouldn’t be a problem with dry skin girls. Also I found this shade(or maybe the foundation) transfers a tad little when I wear it alone, like maybe because its got so much orange in it, I felt the transfer on my palms. So there’s no way that I can wear this on its own, I needed a powder to seal it with. I dunno if anyone else noticed it transfer. Once I pat on some powder, it doesn’t transfer and I’m all matte after applying the powder and doing the rest of my face. And surprisingly the foundation was on for almost 7 hours, I wore it for a good 7 hour period and I didn’t touch up my face anywhere to test the performance of the foundation. At the end of the day, I do notice that shine when I first applied the foundation and also I could see the foundation break around the nose and my mouth area. The rest of my face is pretty much same as I first applied all the products.
The foundation comes out much lighter than what we see in the cushion, so don’t think it is too dark. Here’s a swatch of how the shade looks –
And here’s how it looks in real, in natural light –
Overall, I’m so impressed with the performance of the Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation, but the only issue comes with the shades – we need more shades for the medium skin tones and the melanin rich beauties like me. Also I’d like to try the Honey Beige shade, I’m still so confused between the two shades.
Did you try this new Wet n Wild Mega Cushion Foundation?? Which shade are you in? Lemme know your thoughts…..
