I’m just so out of words to even describe about Makeup Revolution. MUR is just so killin me with all its awesome products. It’s not a surprise that Makeup Revolution launches something new and it’s not being hyped about. Right after a month of the release of their Conceal & Define Concealers, they’ve took over the internet again by launching their first ever Makeup Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation in 18 stunning shades, I’m sure everyone would find one! And now these are available in India as well. In this post, I’ll be talking about these Fast Base Stick Foundation and their performance.
Foundation just got faster! Launching in 18 shades and a range of undertones, Fast Base Foundation quickly perfects, contours and highlights your complexion. The easy-to-apply stick formula melts into skin, blending seamlessly to leave a fresh and dewy finish.
PRICE : £5 or a $9 product. In India it retails for INR 850/-. You can definitely buy these at some trusted instagram sellers at a bit lower prices.
I did order mine from an Indian website HOKmakeup where it costed me about 850 bucks. I really feel it’s better you but directly from their official website to overcome such high cost. Otherwise just go with your trusted insta-sellers.
SHADES : The Fast Base Stick Foundation comes in a spectrum of 18 shades. Like the concealers even the foundation sticks do come in the same numbers.
I picked up 2 shades – F10 & F12, from this stick foundation, which happened to be the same shades as the concealers.
- F10 – For medium skin tones with a golden undertone
- F12 – For medium/dark skin tones with a neutral undertone
HOW TO USE : Twist up, swipe on and blend out with fingers, a beauty sponge or your favourite foundation brush.
Packaging, these stick foundations come in a cream colored all plastic casing, but everything really feels quite luxurious because of it’s rose gold detailing. The stick comes in a twist up retractable form, which is pretty decent in size. The shade name is mentioned on a sticker stuck at the bottom of the stick as a well as near the bar code. Overall, it is very easy and convenient to use as well as to carry around in the travels.
The foundation is very creamy and thick in formula. Yet it feels quite light weight on the skin. It is easy to apply and is equally very comfortable in blending out. And it gives such a beautiful satiny dewy finish. Dry skin girls will love this foundation as it does give that well moisturized dewy look once everything is settled. But oily skin beauties might also love the finish but need to set the foundation with some powder to avoid the shine. Since it is a stick foundation it does apply heavily, giving an illusion of a high coverage foundation. I’m sure every stick foundation does act up the same way, but I was surprised to see that this foundation remained completely full coverage throughout the whole application. This foundation gives an almost full coverage which can be sheered out or buildable accordingly. I’m not a person with great skin, I do have few spots and blemishes here and there on my face and I need to go over again with the foundation on few spots and dark patches to completely camouflage it.
I chose the shades F10 and F12 as I have the same numbered shades in the Conceal & Define Concealers. I made sure I checked out some comparison swatches between the concealers and these stick foundations before I chose my foundation shades. I found not much difference between the concealer and the foundation, they look much alike. So I was confident in these 2 shades. For reference, I’m between NC43-44, if in case those shades exist in Mac. I use F12 all over my face, be it for full coverage or for a daily wearable look. It pretty much gives a good coverage, although it doesn’t cover all the spots/blemishes. And F10 is obviously lighter than my skintone, so I use F10 to highlight my under eyes and other areas on my face that I want to highlight. Now talking about the application process, everybody have their own preference in using different blending tools. This stick foundation works good with beauty blender or any foundation brush. I tested using both of them. I swipe the foundation on my face depending on the coverage I need, and take my beauty blender to spread it evenly and blend it to a flawless finish. I did try it with my PAC Flat top Kabuki brush as well, it did blend the foundation well but it did leave the brush streaks (very unnoticable though) on my face, so I need to go back to my beauty blender to make it look flawless again. So overall, I see myself using the beauty blender with this stick foundation.
The foundation blends out like a dream and didn’t go patchy anywhere or look cakey on my skin. Just make sure you have the right shade of foundation. I had this foundation on for the whole day and it was only after 4-5 hours that I had to touch my face with powder for my oily Tzone shine. I hadn’t observed any major creasing anywhere at the end of the day.
I’ve done comparison swatch between the Conceal & Define Concealer and these Fast Base Stick Foundations. There’s seriously not much of major difference between the same numbered foundation and the concealer, it’s just a tiny amount of coverage that’s making a difference.
Overall, what an amazing product again from Makeup Revolution! Totally impressed with these Fast Base Stick Foundation. This creamy stick foundation just gives a beautiful coverage with a healthy glow to the skin which I love! I’d definitely recommend these to everyone – any skin type and every skin tone. I’m sure everyone would be able to relate a shade for their own. I’d love to try darker shades for contour/bronzing as well as few lighter shades for highlighting.
