There’s definitely not much intro needed for some brands, and Colourpop Cosmetics is one such brand. Colourpop has always been my favorite brand that never disappoints me, be it their Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks, Lippie Stix, Super Shock eyeshadows and blushes and what not. When Colourpop introduced its first palettes I was so much into them and I wanted to try them. I’ve already been using my Fem Rosa SHE Palette and I absolutely adore it. Here’s what I bought along with the She Palette, but reviewing it super late – the YES PLEASE! Eyeshadow Palette by Colourpop cosmetics.
The original fixed 12 pan palette is all about that golden hour glow – the hottest shades inspired by our fave time of the day. Highly pigmented shadows that applies evenly and feels ultra-velvety and silky. This long wearing formula contains a unique combination of softer powders which adheres easily to the eyes, gives a soft focus effect, and blends smoothly and evenly. Has both Matte and Metallic finished shadows.

I bought my palette from an Instagram store. If you’ve been following me well you might have known that I don’t take risks in all the customs and duties stuff, so I better trust few of my authenticated Instagram stores who get me stuff hassle-free.
Packaging, is very basic yet very cute, petite and adorable just as it is named – CUTE AF! And I love the fact that Colourpop sends cute and impressive notes even on the smallest order placed. The palettes comes in a bright yellow outer carton box which says YES PLEASE in the front and the shade names and details on the backside. And the actual palette comes in a light grey toned white color with CUTE AF and Colourpop logo printed in yellow. At the back, we’ve the shade names mentioned again, just in case if you throw away the outer box. Opening the palette we have 12 stunning, gorgeous warm earthy toned eyeshadows placed in 3 rows, in both matte and metallic finishes. The palette is a cardboard made and has a magnetic enclosure, yet it is quite firm and sturdy – easy to travel with.
The palette is pretty smaller when compared to what we see and expect from the pictures posted by the brand. The pans are a bit smaller than the single eyeshadows and the Super Shock shadows. And probably that’s the reason you can see this palette tagged at just $16. Also I feel Colourpop could’ve done a better job in writing down the names of the shades right below each pan rather than mentioning at the backside, because it would be tough for people who do makeup tutorials to look back for its name each time they pick up a shade.
APPLICATION TIPS : Apply with your favorite shadow brushes. Flat and firmer brushes will give the most color payoff. Fluffier brushes are great for blending. Use a small angled brush to line the eyes.
Yes Please palette has 8 mattes and 4 shimmery/metallic shades. The mattes are so soft and powdery – powdery enough to blend in perfectly. The shimmers are creamy and soft as well. The mattes work well with fluffy blending brushes while the shimmers work good with fingers or sometimes with a flat shaded brush to pack on the pigment. The colors are so rich and greatly pigmented in just one swipe. The shimmers have got equally rich pigmentation when applied with fingers rather than using brushes.
The Yes Please palette has got a perfect blend of shades that can be worn daily for colleges/office and it’s also got those bright yellows and oranges for a great sunset looks. The golden and bronzey shimmery shades are so good to bring the bling on for any festive looks. I don’t think there are no perfect highlighting shades, but still the golds work good to highlight my inner corner as well my brow bone. This is quite a versatile palette. The lighter shades that go well as base shades, as well as the deeper and darker shades are perfect for my crease shades. This palette has a more of the natural shades except for 1-2 bright colors. These shadows do have fall outs – but nothing over a point. It is quite natural when working with pressed eyeshadows, I don’t mind in that.
Overall, this Colourpop Yes Please is a great invest if you’re looking for a good everyday kind of a palette with a mix of mattes and shimmers, except for that bright yellow shade though unless you wanna sport a good bright eye look. And the fact that it’s not that expensive is what made me have this palette in my hands now! I’d definitely recommend this palette if you’re someone who wears only subtle natural shades.
