Packaging, the Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color comes in a regular Lakme Absolute themed black outer box, with all the specifications of the lipstick and the shade name mentioned. The liquid lipstick comes in a clear plastic tube with a black screw cap. It has the regular slant tip doe-foot applicator for a neat and precise application. It has a 6ml product in the tube which is pretty decent quantity for a regular sized liquid lipstick. Overall, the packaging is very much normal and frankly speaking, kind of a very cheap quality packaging for that price tag infact. There’s nothing like a wow factor from the appearance though.
The liquid lip color has a soft velvety creamy texture and glides very smoothly on the lips. The applicator gives a smooth and clean application without any errors, but it’s very thin that it holds very less product. I need to dip in twice or thrice to pick up the required lipstick. The lipstick does give a decent medium coverage, and can be buildable to a full coverage by going on with another coat. Or if you’re someone who’s not interested in layering on twice/thrice the lipstick, just use the desired lip liner to correct the lip flaws and go with the liquid lipstick. Also the lipstick takes quite a long time in drying, for me it took nearly 5 minutes to completely set into a transfer-proof matte lipstick. In the meantime, if you’re gonna press your lips together or rub them, chances are fair that you might end up in a patchy finish.
The happy part is that the formula of the lipstick is very comfortable and not that drying on the lips. Initially it doesn’t feel like the lipstick enhances any of the fine lines and stuff on the lips, but after a good 4 hours it starts to feel dry. I guess this phenomena is common with any liquid lipstick. I wore these lip colors for a whole day hoping it’d stay all day, but it only lasted for 5-6 hours. Surprisingly, these are not completely transfer-proof, because when I started to snack anything oily the lipstick did transfer onto cups/glasses and it wore off from the inner rim. So it didn’t last me for a long time. And I don’t suggest to touch up the lipstick over and over again going on building layers, rather just remove the lipstick completely and reapply it again.
Here’s how the shades look : Top- Vintage Pink and Bottom- Mulberry Feast.
Overall, these Lakme Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Colors fared a decent job. I’m impressed with the super comfortable formula and the basic shade range, but I’m not okay with spending a 750rs on a very normal liquid lipstick which has medium pigmentation and takes almost 3-5 minutes to set and transfers. People looking for quality liquid lipsticks on budget, you could give this a skip. And people like me who’d like to keep an eye on the new launches and try them often, I’d suggest to pick only one to two shades max.
