Okay! So this came in like a big surprise from Maybelline. Very recently Maybelline has launched the FIT ME! LOOSE FINISHING POWDER in India. Can you believe it? I totally did not expect this from Maybelline, but right when I saw these babies on Nykaa I had to and had to get them. That’s what I did. I did a little research on the shades and finally decided to get myself the MEDIUM DEEP 30 shade, which looks close to my skin tone. I’ve recieved this powder a few days back and I’ve been testing it out ever since. In this post, I’ll be talking about this new Loose Powder in the town.

Unfortunately, in India there are only 4 of the shades available now and I hope the rest all shades will also be available soon.
I bought the shade 30 MEDIUM DEEP. I initially fixed two of the shades 25 and 30, and I was totally confused to which one to go with. I mentally made my mind that I’d go for shade no. 25, as 30 looked quite dark while I was researching on them. And right when I was about to checkout my cart, my mind cried out saying ‘Girl! 30 is your shade.’ And yeah, here I’m with the shade no. 30 Medium Deep and luckily it was the closest shade to my skin tone. 25 would be a highlighting shade for me, I could maybe use to highlight my undereye area.
The packaging of the Maybelline Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder comes in a super chic box. It is a square plastic clear jar with a glossy black twistable lid. It didn’t have any extra outer packaging, but it came securely sealed. All the details of the powder and instructions and ingredients are mentioned at the bottom of the jar. The lid opens with just one twist and closes tight with same one twist. On opening the lid, there’s as spill proof plastic seal on the little holes. Surprisingly, this is totally mess-free. How much ever you shake the jar, there’s only a little quantity that comes out of the holes and the powder just stays in and does not create any mess. Translucent powders are not travel friendly, but I think I can go around with this one. I don’t see much of mess or wastage either.
And I saw few youtubers compare this powder to the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder, both in packaging and the formula. But I guess the Maybelline powders launched way back than the Huda Beauty ones, so that says it all.
The Maybelline Fit Me! Loose Powder is a mineral-based loose powder which claims to help control the shine and smooth skin’s texture. It has such a soft, smooth texture and is very powdery, but I think it’s not that finely milled(maybe because of the pigments in there, it’s not like super silky). It has great pigmentation and is extremely light weight on the skin. It is supposed to be a ‘setting powder’ rather it is claimed to be a ‘finishing powder. It does the job of setting the face perfectly and is good for baking the under eyes. The powder sets to a completely matte finish blurring out any imperfections and pores on the face. It also claims to work on bare skin i.e it is said to work alone, but we generally don’t tend to use loose powders alone(compact powders are different). But this powder goes on well with BB creams,CC creams and any kind of foundations seamlessly and flawlessy.
30 Medium Deep has a mix of both warm deep golden tones and orange tones to it. I think this powder will suit NC 43-44 and maybe NC45 people also. It might look a tad dark on NC42 skin tone. And anybody deeper/darker than NC45, this might work as a highlighting powder. I bought this powder for my overall face setting powder, and not just for baking purpose, so in that way I could make the most out of it.

I’ve never tried pigmented loose powders before. This is my first time. I use this powder to set with my face over my Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 322 Warm Honey. It sets the foundation flawlessly and it helps blurring the pores. It just gives a beautiful flawless base. But remember girl! you need to go light hand with this powder. You do not want to pack this powder under the eyes. Rather you need to blend this powder really well for that flawless base. I first time I used this powder, I unknowingly packed a ton of powder and baked under my eyes with a beauty blender, and even after dusting it a lot the powder just sat like a big clump under my eyes. It was a bit uncomfortable too. I usually tend to pack a lot of translucent powder and bake my under eyes, which is what I did with this powder too, and I guess that was a disaster. So, the second time I gave just a light dusting with my flat top brush(the same brush which I blended in my foundation) and swirled it in blending the powder, and it gave the best. Like now I just fell in love with this powder! For years I’ve only been a fan of Kryolan Translucent Powder, but this Maybelline Fit Me Loose powder changed the game. It absolutely does not give/leave any gray ashy like cast behind, and does not give any flashback.
For the longevity, I had this powder on for more than 6 hours and even after sweating a lot(yes, I sweat a lot), this powder was so intact on my skin. It could last even longer, but I only had it for a 6-7 hour period. I did not re-touch for the whole 6 hour period. It did not smudge or alter my foundation/concealer. It did control the shine for a long time. Only at the end of the day, I could faintly notice little cracks at my smile lines and around my nose. And for the shine, I noticed it only at the end of the day. Taking a risk, one day, I really tried this powder without any ‘moisturizer’ on my face, and straight up I went with my foundation and then this powder, and surprisingly I did not find it drying at all. I do have dry cheek areas and whenever I apply any compact powder, for sure I’ll see dry patches around, but with this powder I did not notice any dryness.
On my face, I’ve Maybelline Fit Me! ♥ Foundation in 322 Warm Honey, ♥ Loose Finishing powder in 30 Medium Deep and ♥ Master Chrome Metallic highlighter(my HG). A simple easy everyday look, with no concealer though.
I don’t really use much of any other loose powders, except the Kryolan Translucent powder and the recent Sugar All Set To Go Translucent powder. So, I really cannot compare this Maybelline one with any now.
Overall, I’m absolutely in love with the Maybelline Fit Me!Loose Finishing Powder. True to the claims, it does control the shine and stays matte throughout the day. It sets your foundation and concealers perfectly blurring out any imperfections and the pores. And most importantly it does not give flashbacks. I’d definitely suggest you get one, and you’ll love it.
