MAYBELLINE THE CITY MINI PALETTE – CHILL BRUNCH NEUTRALS |Review, Swatches

I dunno what’s the thing with me that I always like the mini palettes, and especially with the Maybelline mini palettes I travel a a lot with them. They’re comfortable and compact for me to throw them in my travel pouch and also they give a neat subtle day looks for any vacays. I bought this Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Chill Brunch Neutrals during a sale, because I thought these mini palettes are totally not worth Rs.750. AVAILABILITY : The Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Chill Brunch Neutrals or any other variant are now available at any of the beauty stores across India. And also available online on Nykaa, Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Jabong etc etc.

Packaging, the Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Chill Brunch Neutrals comes in a mini sized palette, which also comes with a outer cardboard sleeve. The palette comes in a glossy black plastic case with a see-through lid. Good to see a transparent lid, but at the same time sad that there’s no mirror included. But of course, we know that Maybelline palettes never came with any mirror. The palette has got all the details about the palette on it. It also comes with a dual-ended little applicator brush which a regular sponge tip on one end and a kind of bristled brush at the other end. Okay! that’s quite impressive, I mean the idea of the brush, because Maybelline always includes a sponge tip brush in all its palette which of course is a waste, but with this I think at least some a times I might use the brush for application. Overall, a decent quality palette with nice slotting of the shades, and a great travel-friendly palette.

This palette is great for beginners, who are just starting with their eye shadows. Everything about which shade, and where to use it – all the details are mentioned at the back of the palette.

This, Chill Brunch Neutrals palette is a neutral palette, perfect for everyday subtle looks. I’ve seen most people tell it’s more cool-toned, but for me its pretty much very neutral toned. It has 6 shades – 3 mattes(one being kind of a satiny matte) and 3 shimmers. I have had enough of nude/neutral eyeshadows in my collection, but when it comes to Maybelline palettes I’ll better choose a Neutral one coz they’re good at them. Like this palette has a perfect blend of that light matte ‘base, shade, suiting all skin tones; deeper skin tone people will find it being too light and powdery. The mauvey-pink and cool-toned brown shades are most prominently the crease shades; the brown is my fav though. I can use the pink as my lid shade sometimes. The lid shades(the shimmers) are absolutely beautiful – applies great with fingers with very less fallouts. And these shadows lasted for a good 6+ hours.

Bottom line, I think I like the palette, but I’d seriously not recommend this to anyone particularly, only if you’re a serious nude palette addict. For beginners, the shades are perfect but the price point is so high for just six shadows. And for people like me who already own 878643863 neutral palettes in your stash, you could probably skip this; nothing that intimidating to own this palette.
