One of the most hyped drugstore products and one the most repurchased moisturizers from my stash has to be this Neutrogena Hydro Boost range; especially the gel moisturizer. I know, I am super duper late in posting content on my blog lately, but I have finished two huge tubs of the moisturizer and one bottle of the serum (it is quite pricey I tell you).

In this blogpost, let us talk about Neutrogena’s one of the best selling duo – the Hydro Boost Capsule Serum and the Gel Moisturizer.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Capsule in Serum
A highly effective daily serum that instantly quenches dry skin, helps repair skin’s moisture barrier and protects against recurring dryness. The 3 powerful ingredients lock in moisture : Anti-Oxidant Vitamin E capsules, Glycerin, Purified Hyaluronic Acid.
Purified Hyaluronic Acid: Naturally found in skin, hyaluronic acid acts as a sponge for dry skin, moisturizing up to 1,000 times its weight in water.
Antioxidant: Helps to fortify the skin barrier and protect against dryness.

What’s in the formula?
In Serum โ With improved moisture sensor complex, it replenishes skin when you need it most while repairing and rebuilding skin barrier to lock that moisture in.
In Capsule โ It releases anti-oxidant that fortifies the skin barrier and protects against recurring dryness.
The serum comes in a nice aqua blue transparent plastic bottle, housed in the respective themed cardboard box which mentions all the details of the product on it. The packaging is quite simple, yet fancy looking and very convenient to use. The serum is a basically a clear gel-like serum with white colored capsules in it, which when pumped out comes in a translucent clear consistency. It is water-based and hence very quickly absorbs into the skin and leaves a shimmery finish because of the pearls in it. And it has a soothing aqua fragrance, which I really liked.

I used this serum in my morning and night routines, and it is super light and hydrating on the skin. Packed with humectants – Hyaluronic acid, Glycerin and Vitamin E, and power active ingredient Niacinamide, this serum makes a perfect choice for any skin type to give your skin a boost of hydration. However, the brand who claims to say that it is a super hydration booster does not give the amount of concentrations of the actives used in it. So, I’m assuming the HA used is less than any regular one-ingredient serum. Is this serum better than the normal HA serum in the market? – No.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel has a unique light-weighted fresh texture that can be instantly absorbed, proven to effectively lock in abundant hydration deep within your skin, and continuously quench your skinโs thirst throughout the day.

The Water Gel is a lightweight gel-moisturizer that spreads easily, absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any greasy residue or sticky feeling. This gel again has a subtle soothing aqua fragrance. If you’re sensitive to even subtle smells, then just skip it. The gel comes in an aqua blue plastic tub/jar with a silver screw lid. The outer cardboard box has all the details about the product though. The gel has a light blue colored translucent consistency to it. It is again a water-based formula, so the gel absorbs in no time with very minimal residue. Me, having oily-combination skin really loved the oil-free and mess-free formula, and how comfortable it felt on my skin. This gel moisturizer would be best loved by oily skin beauties more. This gel is just meant give skin a boost of hydration, and people with dry and extremely dry skin will find it not so effective.

Will I recommend it? Um..Yes for the oily(and/or combination) skin people who are looking for affordable everyday moisturizers. Your skin feels well hydrated and supple.
