Vitamin C is one of the most used actives in any skincare product; be it in cleansers, toners serums and moisturizers. It is the one stop solution for all your skin concerns. But Vitamin C is somehow just not the cup of tea for skin of color due to our skin’s excess melanin production. So that is why we find most Vitamin C serums not working for us. Moreover, synthetic Vitamin C is one difficult ingredient that is more prone to oxidize super fast. This is where Liposomal process comes into light. Liposomal formulation is a process where the potent active ingredients are encapsulated so they penetrate deeper into the skin cells than the regular serums, and work effectively. And formulated with the same nano-technology, we have the Sesderma C-Vit Liposomal Serum which I’m going to talk about today. I’ve heard a lot about this brand ‘Sesderma’ and it has been in my wishlist forever; it is such a luxe brand and a popular one in most foreign countries. And thankfully I’m so so so glad that the team recently reached out to me to test out this best-seller Vitamin C Serum and I immediately started using this serum

The Sesderma C-Vit Liposomal Serum is an essential Vitamin C serum formulated with the Liposomal nano-technology, that gives your daily dose of Vitamin C with an extraordinary antioxidant effect, which fights dull and lifeless skin. It restores uniform skin tone and natural luminosity of the skin over time. It also increases natural elasticity and vitality of the skin.
It contains stabilised Vitamin C (e-VitC) as an essential active: an anti-free radicals par excellence. In addition, the powerful antioxidant complex โAntiox Booster system AX+โ multiplies x4 the antioxidant effect of our vitamin C. Also has Morus Alba extract and Hyaluronic acid.

PACKAGING – The serum comes in a safely packed orange-white cardboard box which has all the details about the product mentioned on it. Housed inside the box is the dark brown colored glass bottle with a pipette dropper applicator. The dark glass bottle packaging is designed to preserve the product’s efficacy by preventing contamination, exposure to air and light that may compromise the quality of the product. I really like the packaging; very simple , smart and perfect packaging for a Vitamin C product.

FORMULA/TEXTURE – The serum is a lightweight, non-greasy formulation. It is a water-based formula, so it is very easy to work with and it quickly gets absorbed into the skin. Its got a typical serum consistency and also has a very light orangey color to it. Oh, did I not mention you guys that the Liposomal technology is also responsible for the non-oxidization of the Vitamin C; meaning, unlike regular Vitamin C serums this one does not oxidize or change its color. If you’ve checked the ingredients already, this serum does contain fragrance, and it smells very citrusy. It is quite okay for me with the scent.

MY EXPERIENCE –
I have always struggled with hyperpigmentation and dull skin. I’ve tried a lot of Vitamin C serums in the market and I was only disappointed in them not actually working on my skin. I truly gave up on Vitamin C serums, when Sesderma reached out and I thought I’d give one last shot at this one. I started incorporating this serum in my AM routine (mostly) and I’m really being consistent on it. The formula feels great on the skin. It is so hydrating, just enough for my combination skin. The serum contains 3-O-Ethly Ascorbic Acid, a stable form of vitamin C that brightens skin and help reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as other ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid and Ginkgo Biloba extract. It provides the essential antioxidant protection and brightens the skin.
My morning routine starts with a gentle cleanser, a hydrating toner, the Sesderma Serum and my sunscreen(with no other actives). Being an oily-combination skin type, and with the summers starting, I like to keep my routine simple and minimal. If you’re beginner, I’d suggest the same routine to start with. Iโve been using this serum for a few weeks now, and all I could tell for now is that it has improved my dull skin; meaning I could find very slight glow in my skin. I am waiting for it to completely work on my skin.

As with any skincare product, individual results may vary, and it’s important to patch test before using it on the entire face. It’s also essential to use sunscreen daily when using any product containing vitamin C to protect the skin from further damage.
Overall, if you’re someone like me, especially brown skinned girl who is desperately looking for a Vitamin C serum that actually works, this Sesderma C-Vit Liposomal Serum should be your answer. This serum overall improves skin texture and luminosity, reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and moreover protects the skin against environmental stressors. What can you ask for more? I highly recommend this Vitamin C serum. However, consistency is the key; you cannot expect miracles in just a week or 2. Vitamin C takes about 4-12 weeks to work or show any results on the skin. So be patient and let the serum do its magic.
