I did not know I had so much love for coconuts. Lately, I’m totally loving everything coconut-y, right from what I consume to what I topically apply. And coffee being my top most skincare ingredient, a scrub made with two of such goodness is a total bliss. St.Ives has really amazing skin care, I love their body lotions and I did try the Walnut scrub which is good, now when I saw this new scrub online, I knew I had to get it.

Packaging, the Coconut & Coffee scrub comes in a huge tube with a flip-open cap. And the tube has this coconuts and coffee theme going around which already refreshes me, a little bit. The tube has all the details about the product, list of ingredients and about how to use it etc on the back side. The packaging is quite sturdy and makes it travel friendly too.

  • Squeeze a dime sized amount of Energizing Coconut & Coffee Face Scrub onto your fingertips and massage onto damp skin.
  • Spread in small circular motions, applying gentle pressure to wake your skinโ€™s natural circulation.
  • Work all over, right up to your hairline and onto the sides of your nose.
  • When youโ€™re done, rinse and pat dry with a clean towel.
  • Use 3 to 4 times a week (depending on skin) for best results.

About how I use it, I like to use this twice or thrice a week, for my face and body(sometimes). This is a cream-based scrub, and I think this would be great for dry skin as well. And this babe smells so amazingly of coconuts and coffee, of course. St.Ives claims this scrub has deep exfoliating factor, and yes it has pretty heavy exfoliating particles. Having combination skin, this feels okay on my face. But sensitive skin people will find it being harsh and heavy on their skin. Scrubbing with a light pressure on wet skin is enough to get the job done. It leaves the skin soft and smooth, and most importantly well hydrated. It removes all the dead’flaky skin and gets rid of all dirt and grime from the skin.

As said, the scrub smells so heavenly and gives so much tropical vibes..but but but, I’ll tell you what’s wrong with this scrub. As the name tells, this scrub hardly consists any coconuts or coffee in it. Even the exfoliating particles you find in this are of the Walnut shell powder, which is okay tho. But if you clearly read the ingredients list, you’ll see the Caffeine(coffee) and Coconut fruit extract mentioned at the last which totally disappoints me, at least me. When you name the product with key ingredients, we consumers expect them to be the main heroes and not throw them at the end in poor quantities. This is what I’m personally disappointed with.

Overall, I’d say this Coconut & Coffee scrub did great job in exfoliating the skin without drying it at all and makes it super soft and smooth. This would be great for all skin types, even for dry skin, but sensitive skin people should be thinking before investing in it if you can stand the harsh gritty particles rubbing your sensitive skin. All that’s for people who wanna buy it, or already bought it. If you’re an ingredient specific person (like me) who cares about what goes in your skin care, I’d probably say you skip it because I personally see this being the same as the Walnut Scrub with just fragrance of Coconuts and Coffee. Instead, I’d prepare myself a Coconut Oil-Coffee DIY which again suits all skin types and costs less, and gives much more benefits than this artificial scrub. What say??!
