If you’ve put a little effort in even researching about Korean skincare or Korean beauty, I bet you’ll definitely get addicted to it. So, did I. I’m so addicted to K-beauty skincare and my skin has adapted to it now that if I stop this, my skin is gonna go bad again. I’ve been researching about Korean skincare products, mostly which are available in India and The Face Shop and Innisfree were the initial brands which were available in India. And I’ve tried most of their products. I found this very innovative mask from The Face Shop, which I was skeptical of trying it at first, but when Nykaa site had super deals going on I thought it’s good time to grab this to try out. In this post, I’ll be talking about this Jeju Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay Mask.

The Jeju Volcanic Lava Self-Heating Clay pore mask contains Jeju Volcanic Ash. Formulated with sebum-absorbing Jeju Volcanic Ash – Jeju Volcanic Ash is the product of volcanic activity on Jeju Island. Its porous texture absorbs excess sebum and provides intensive pore care.

PRICE : INR 1290/- for a 20ml product. I bought this on a discount, from Nykaa.

Ingredients : Glycerin, Kaolin, Volcanic Ash, Silica, PPG-9 Diglyceryl, Ether, Polyglycerel-10 Laurate, Water/EAU, Sasa Quelpaertensis extract, Hizikia Fusiforme extract, Akebia Quinata Extract, Carbomer, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Triethanolamine.

How to apply the face mask : After washing your face, apply a sufficient amount and spread evenly on areas requiring pore care. Gently massage for 3 to 5 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Packaging, I must say is very very mess-free and comfortable. It comes in a bottle like thing with an attached tiny silicone brush head, which is soft and gentle for exfoliation. There’s a button at the side of the bottle, which needs to be pressed (a several number of times) for the mask to come out. The mask comes with a outer box as well, on which all the details about the product and about how to use it, is being mentioned. The bottle is very travel-friendly and I can definitely carry it without any hassle.

The mask has got this raw honey kind of texture, formula(pretty similar to the gel facewashes) and smell too (I suppose). Upon cleansing my face with lukewarm water (just making sure my pores open up for masking), I apply this mask. All that I do is click the button on the side of the bottle to let the mask out, and apply it with the brush itself. The mask warms up right when it comes in contact with the skin. Within a minute I can feel a warm sensation. I sometimes go for a full face of mask application, or else I concentrate on my problem areas like my nose and chin area where I feel a need to deep clean my pores.

I leave on the mask for about 5 minutes and then start to gently massage with the brush. Practically talking, you feel the brush does just the job of cleaning, but in real after washing off, I feel the difference. The first thing I always observe with any Kbeauty product is a soft, smooth and fresh skin -bammm! I love this instant thing. Lol, not kidding about that tho, but my skin felt fresh, soft and tightened. My pores seem cleaner and smaller in size (surprise surprise!). I see my whiteheads being a bit gone, and an okay-ish effect on my blackheads. I think a regular use of this mask will show up visible changes in the blackheads. But still, I do like this mask. It does what it says, cleans up all the impurities from the pores and melts the whiteheads with the nature ingredients. This mask did not dry up my skin at all, in fact my skin felt much hydrated even though this mask does absorb excess sebum from the skin. I’d definitely recommend this mask to everyone.
