Not gonna kid, but I really love brands\companies who come up with efficient skincare with minimal substances and moreover being natural in ethnicity. I came across such brand, Indrani Cosmetics, a few weeks back but surprisingly and unexpectedly I was blessed that they reached me out to test their products. So, I was sent some of their skincare range, which I have been testing out right after I received their package. In this post, I’ll be talking about what all I got from them and my brutally honest thoughts about this whole new brand.

Just because we heard this name for the first time doesn’t mean this is a new brand. Indrani Cosmetics is a 25 year old strong company having extensive reach in the Indian market. From premium skincare to facial kits for every skin needs to spa care, Indrani Cosmetics has got you covered everything.

As I got the mini versions of these, all of them are cute little ones perfect for travel, vacations.

The cleanser comes in a simple clear plastic bottle with a golden screw lid, and with all the essential details about the product on the label itself. This light golden colored gel cleanser is what I’m currently liking. I think it does have the right proportions of Salicylic acid salt, that doesn’t trigger skin’s natural pH and what’s surprising is I’ve been using cleanser since two weeks now, and I’ve just finished half of this little bottle. A little goes a long way. Suits all skin types I’d say, and it does not feel drying at all. It really cleanses my face for a fresh skin. The Aloe Vera helps sooth the skin. Oh..and btw it does have fragrance (can’t describe it correctly though) but nothing over-powering.

INGREDIENTS : Masoor Dal flour, Toor Dal flour, Yeast, Sodium Methyl Paraben, Sodium Propyl Paraben, Rice Flour.

When I’ve first seen this, I could only imagine it being a chemical peel like thing, but when I’ve gone through the details I have convinced my mind that this is a natural physical exfoliator. Made from all-natural Indian style kitchen ingredients, this is another of my favorite. I keep switching from Sal Face-Veg Peel and Veg Peel-Sal Face combination every alternate day and my skin loves it. It has the perfect micro gritty exfoliators (from the dal and rice flours) that act smooth on the skin without being abrasive. This definitely is my 2-in-1 product; I spread the mixture all over my face, let it sit for 5 minutes (or 10 max) and then massage to exfoliate and rinse off. It gets rid of all the dirt and excess dead skin, making it smooth and soft and glowing. This 50g tub is coming a month for sure; totally worth. It can definitely be used as a body scrub as well.

INGREDIENTS : Kaolin, Zinc Oxide, Calamine, Sodium Methyl Paraben, Sodium Propyl Paraben, Hydantoin, D. M Water.

Comes in a normal pearl white plastic tub. This mask has the goodness of Kaolin Pink Clay, Calamine and Zinc Oxide. Pretty much normal as any clay mask, it applies smoothly but since clay masks have the tendency to dry fast, you can keep mixing water or your favorite rose water to bring to the appliable condition. The mask has clay-calamine fragrance, of course it has to. Kaolin Clay and Calamine are great skin friendly ingredients that target oily skin, get rid of excess oil, removes impurities and dirt from the pores. It’s great for acne-prone skin as well. Dry skin people, however should stay away from this mask, as Clay and Calamine both are quite drying on your skin. I used this mask on 4 alternative days and I’m not sure how effective it is on removing tan, because I personally did not see any major difference in my skin. And since I do not have any acne issues right now and I’m looking for a pore clean-up, this clay mask pretty much did the job, also removing my excess oil on my oily T-zone area.

I have kind of mixed feelings towards this pinky clay mask. First things first, I’m not a fan of Zinc Oxide in facial masks because they really leave a white cast on the skin making the rinsing process quite messy. This kind of puts me down. Secondly, I was wondering that since this is an Anti Tan pack, why use Anti Acne ingredients? And the Zinc Oxide is also just a sun protectant and does not help or remove the already existing tan. There are other anti-tan kitchen ingredients that can be used in here. Well, that’s just my opinion. Doesn’t mean I hate it completely; I still use this on my skin.

An extremely refreshing and soothing shower gel with the goodness of Aloe Vera in it. Gives you a smooth skin which doesn’t feel drying.

  • Keeps your skin hydrated for a long time
  • Makes you feel fresh and energetic for the whole day
  • Helps in reducing perspiration
  • Good in thoroughly cleansing your body

PRICE : INR 60/- for 50g & INR 200/- for 300g.

INGREDIENTS : Cocodiethalonomide, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerine, Aloe Vera Juice, Sodium Methyl Paraben, Sodium Propyl Paraben, Disodium EDTA, Hydantoin, Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate, Color, Perfume, D.M Water

Comes in a same clear plastic bottle as the Sal Face cleanser with all the details about the product mentioned on the label itself. This green colored shower gel is pretty much a very normal shower gel. I use this with my Vetiver Loofah and I come out of my shower with the smoothest skin. The goodness of Aloe Vera keeps the skin moist and hydrated, without making it dry. Downside of this shower gel is that, even if the slightest friction is applied between the skin after the entire shower it still gives that extra lather which I’m sure everyone do not appreciate it much. And yes, if you’ve observed the ingredients, it contains artificial color and fragrance.

Here’s a texture shot of all four products.

Final Thoughts : From premium skincare to exotic spa care, Indrani Cosmetics is one brand you can try if you love trying newbies. I really felt their product range is amazing, but in this conscious world where people are extra conscious about skincare and going ‘all-natural’ and ‘cruelty-free’ etc etc., it was sad to see SLS, Parabens and Sulphates, Artificial colors and fragrances in here. I totally agree that some Parabens are essential for long life of the product, but in this modern world, I’m sure there’s alternative for everything (of course I’m no skincare expert to tell all this). If you’re someone who’s specific about NO Sulphates, Parabens and SLS, then this is something not for you. And people with sensitive skin should also check thoroughly or patch test first and then go on with these.

I’d definitely suggest Sal Face for my oily skin beauties, and Veg Peel for a quick exfoliation (to all skin types though).
